My oven won't turn on. F-9 code What can be wrong?
I have an Amana DCF1425AW glass cooktop range with self clean oven. It's 3 &1/2 y/o. My 3 year warrenty expired last summer (of course) When I hit the BAKE pad, the LOCK lite comes on. Usually when you hit the BAKE pad, you can set the oven temp & time. I cannot do this. The clock works, the 4 stovetop burners work fine. When I do lock the oven and hit the CLEAN pad, the timer for the cleaning comes on and the oven starts to warm but after about 1 minute it stops and an F-9 code shows in the digital readout. According to my book, it said to unplug the stove for a few minutes and the plug it back in, which I did. No change. Still get teh F-9 code.
What is it? A fuse somewhere? A bad sensor?
Please help if you can!
(We did have a power surge about a week ago. )

I was going to suggest the unplug idea, but you tried that. The power surge could have blown a fuse inside its little brain.
Try a 1-800 number for Amana and see if they will answer the code question over the phone. If they can help you resolve it, you may save a trip charge/repairman.
Good luck.
