Why do all the gauges and indicator lights on the dash of my Dodge minivan stop and start working?
I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan EL that was gifted to me. At first everything was working fine, but one day I rounded a corner and all the warning lights on the dash flashed on for a few seconds, then went off. I turned another corner, then another, and the same thing happened. Then I noticed that all the indicators, lights and gauges on the dash had stopped working altogether. Shortly thereafter, I thought I heard a light rumbling noise underneath the floor on the driver's side of the vehicle. This off-and-on thing has continued intermittently for a couple of days. I'm taking it in for repair, but want to have an idea what the problem might be so I won't get shafted.
Sounds like a bad common ground for the dash circuit....circuits need a good ground to operate also and many circuits share a common ground point or wire which may have come loose or frayed. The rumbling noise may be another issue that you picked up on after having the dash problem.
