green pool and everything is balanced, what now?
My pool is green and I am frustrated my total hardness is at 400, ph is 7.5, alkalinity is between 120 and180 and cyanuric acid is 30-50, free chlorine is at 0 but when I checked it with the drip tester it was at 2/4 so I added on more scoop of shock this morning. Yesterday I added 64 oz of algea free. I have been fighting this for weeks. Not sure what to do next. Can someone please help. I have an inground approx 20,000 fiberglass pool. Also, is the chlorine on the drip test and the free chlorine on the strip test the same? If low I add shock right?
Are you running your filter continuously? Filtration is necessary with daily back-washing and vacuuming on waste until it is clear. If you are in an area with a lot of pollen right now, that will cause cloudiness and green, too. Heavy shocking every 2 or 3 days is also needed.
