Installation the rear wheel of an 06' FXSTS.?
I am a new Harley owner. I took off my back wheel to try and fix a noise and do
a little deep
cleaning. I failed to take a picture of the thing before I took it off and now i
can not
remember the placing of the spacers. Here is how I took it off:
-I removed the nut and pin on the pulley side.
-I then , using a socket set, pulled out the axel on the rotor side (with rotor
side nut in place.
-I pushed the wheel forward and took the belt off and removed the caliper and
the metal
pice that attaches the caliper to the frame ( I'll call it the caliper arm).
- removed the wheel.
Now I have three problems:
-I can not remember which side the small or large spacer goes on.
-On the rotor side, does the space go between the frame and the caliper arm or
between the
wheel and the caliper arm.
-Which order to put the caliper, caliper arm, and the wheel on so I do not
scratch up the
wheel.
Can anyone help me out with the three issues?
There should be a spacer on either side, get em wrong and your belt won't line up, just pay attention to it.
as far as which order for the calliper, you won't scratch anything if you're carefull.... just watch what youre doing
